Connect Square to take card and Google Pay payments through your own Square account. You sign in to Square and approve access, so there are no keys to copy, and your money stays in your Square account. If you also use Stripe, you choose which one new payments use.

## Before you start

- Only the workspace owner or an admin can connect Square.
- You need a Square account you can sign in to. One Square account can be connected to one Workspace369 workspace.

## Connect your Square account

1. Open **Settings** → **Integrations**.
2. Find **Square**, tagged **Payments**, and select **Connect**.
3. Read **Connect Square**. It lists what Workspace369 can do in your Square account: take payments, read and update customers (matched to your clients, never duplicated), read your subscriptions, and read your locations and items.
4. Select **Continue to Square**, then sign in to Square and approve access.
5. Come back to Workspace369. It confirms that Square is connected, and **Set up Square** opens.

If you see **This Square account is already connected to another workspace**, disconnect it from that workspace first.

## Set up Square

After you connect, **Set up Square** opens:

1. **Locations**: under **Choose the locations to use**, pick the Square locations Workspace369 should use, and set a **Default location**. That is where new Square payments go.
2. **Import**: **Import from Square** lists what it can bring across: customers matched to your clients, Square plans mapped to membership types (still billed in Square), and pack balances from a spreadsheet. Nothing changes in Square. Select **Start import** to begin, or **Continue** to skip it; you can start it later from the Square page.
3. **Done**: the confirmation names the location new Square payments go to.

If Square still needs something before you can take cards, such as verifying your identity, the Square page says what's missing. Select **Finish in Square**, complete it in Square, then select **Check again**.

## Choose the default for new payments

If both Stripe and Square are connected, choose which one new payments use:

1. Open **Settings** → **Integrations** → **Square** → **Manage**.
2. Under **Default for new payments**, choose Stripe or Square.

Open invoices' pay pages switch to the new default within about a minute. **Settings** → **Online payments** shows the current choice.

## Disconnect Square

Only the workspace owner can disconnect Square.

1. Open **Settings** → **Integrations** → **Square**.
2. Select **Disconnect Square** and confirm.

Square pay links stop. Your clients, invoices, payment history and memberships stay in Workspace369, and money already paid stays in your Square account. Stripe keeps working: if Stripe is connected, open invoices that were set to Square switch to Stripe until you reconnect Square.

If Workspace369 loses access to your Square account, for example because access was removed in Square, a banner says **Square is disconnected** and Square pay links pause until you select **Reconnect Square**.
